The Templars and Maritime Activities

Maritime activities meaning:

Hugues de Payne’s founded the Knights Templar, a military organization made up of eighty relatives and associates. Initially, the Knights of the Temple had little need to invest in Mediterranean maritime activity. Initially, the Knights Templar were uninterested in maritime activity. The purpose of the Knights Templar in the Middle Ages was to protect European pilgrims travelling to the Holy Land.

Only a few sources claim that the templars were fighting in the sea to the west. The templars were initially sent in a small group to the Holy Land, but over time, they convert a considerable number of people.
