Saladin, Egypt’s and Syria’s powerful Sultan, launched his first military campaign against crusaders and templars in November 1177. With a large army (approximately 26,000 warriors) or other forces, Saladin was able to field 20,000 soldiers the next day. The Franks were led by Guy of Lusignan, King of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Early in the battle, Ahmad, Taqi’s ad-uncle, Din was kill, and the Ayyubid soldiers were discourage by the loss of Ahmad and other high-ranking officers. As a result, no one knows how many soldiers return to Egypt. This battle was win by the Crusaders, who are consider to be the greatest warriors in history, as well as the Christian army.
